The Spex Tessellated Shape System is a unique positioning kit which enables you to create contouring for improved seating and positioning.

This system can be added to any back support from the Spex range to maximise trunk stability, enhance positioning and distribute pressure across the back contact surface.

The different foam densities can be tailored to the user’s support and positioning requirements using various layering techniques.

Details

Varying foam densities Positioning pack includes a number of different tessellations in varying foam densities.
Slots behind back support squab Developed to be placed behind the back support squab (in front of the seat shell)
Shape to fit Stack and configure the shapes according to the user's needs
Cut to suit The seperate elements of TSS can be cut and modified to achieve the desired configuration, making it a verstaile solution to easy and effective back support contouring.
Strong Velcro Backing The different elements of the TSS are backed with a strong Velcro surface.

The Tessellated Shape System can be used:

To assist clients with mild postural needs when using a standard back support with flat padding
In all situations where a supportive build-up foundation may be beneficial to assist positioning and comfort
To improve sitting posture and enhance function (e.g. creating sacral/lumbar supports)

What do the different blocks do?

Easy and effective back support contouring: stack and configure each component

Upgrade Vigour, Manta or other Spex back supports in order to maximise stability, positioning and seating tolerance.
Different densities are colour coded for easy application.

	Blue Base Building Block	Firm density shape is used to build a firm foundation for the contouring. The blue blocks are used to build a firm and stable foundation for contouring and to provide the body surface with sensory feedback to the position of the support.
	White Intermediate Building Block	Medium density shape is used to build up shapes where positioning is required. The white blocks are designed to layer and build shapes for tailored positioning.
	Charcoal Overlay Block	Softer density shape is used for creating softer overlay over the previous blocks. The charcoal blocks are used to enhance comfort by providing a softer foam density and smooth out the edges of the underlying building blocks.
	Velcro fastening strips	These are used to smooth over the contours and also to hold it all together.

Note: The colours of the foam blocks have recently changed. Previously the blue elements were the softest, grey elements were medium density, and the black elements were firmest density.
